History of Motorcycles

Everything that exists today would not exist, if there is no history arrayed behind him. We live in the present to see the future, but it helps us to keep studying the past history, so that we can know, and can ensure the walk towards the future, learning from past experiences.

Power Motor is a Honda motorcycle retail company that is growing. Before looking at the history of the Motor Power, is useful to trace the history of the first discovery of a motorcycle.

Since the beginning of civilization, man has been able to think of a way to go anywhere by using the power and speed of an animal. That is why the domesticated horse, to be ridden and used to pull heavy loads. But the horsepower limitations make people re thinking of other alternatives to replace the horsepower.

In 1885 Gottlieb Daimler and his partner Wilhelm Maybach, two four stroke engine expert from Germany, creating the world's first motorcycle. Daimler pair of small four-stroke engine on a wooden bicycle. The machine was placed in the middle (between the front and rear wheels) and connected by a chain to the rear wheel.

Daimler's son became the first to ride a motorcycle when he tried his father's creations, on 10 November 1885, at speeds approaching 10Kpj. Wooden bike engine was named Reitwagen (riding car) and is the world's first motorcycle.

At that time, Reitwagen not sold to the public. Installation of the machine on the wooden bike is a series of experiments conducted by Daimler and Maybach, before installing a four-stroke engine on a wagon, which led to the birth of the automobile.

In 1893, the first motorcycle sold to the public was made by the motorcycle factories Hildebrand und Wolfmüller in muenchen, Germany. This bike does not use the chain. Rear wheel is driven directly by the crankshaft (crankshaft). Motorcycles first entered the United States in 1895 when a French origin circus took him to New York.

In the same year, an inventor of the United States, Ej Pennington, in Milwaukee, demonstrating a motorcycle of his own design.

Pennington stated that he designs motorcycles can be driven with a speed of 93 kilometers per hour, and he was the first to introduce the term motorcycle (motorbike)

Some motorcycle model later on introduced in Germany, France and the UK with a development focus on practicality as a means of transportation. In 1903, his brother Arthur Walter Davidson and William Harley with neighbors makes Harley-Davidson the first. A year later they began producing motorcycles for sale.

In 1909 Harley-Davidson V-Twin engine introduces the first, which had two cylinders with a configuration like the letter "V". The machine has a great sound, rumble and seem manly, shortly machine into a classic American machine.

During 1914, forms the basis of modern motorcycles began to take shape. The form includes laying machines between front and rear wheels and a chain to mentransger power from the engine to the rear wheels.

During World War I (1914-1918), motorcycle proved to be a powerful means of transport for the U.S. military, and Europe. Motorcycles were able to reduce the burden of the highway and was able to bring much communication tools in the future battle lines. After the war, the use of motorcycles spread to Europe and America. Until the 1950s, most North American motorcycle produced by Harley-Davidson or by UK companies such as Birmingham Small Arms Company (BSA), Norton, and Triumph.

The period 1960 and 1970, Japanese companies such as Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha, began to introduce a motorcycle with the development of the engine and suspension, and they are able to compete with the existing motor manufacturer first. Henceforth, motorcycles with engine cc 4 stroke, air 750 to 1200 cc, and is powered their production, will dominate the market for road motorcycles. While the machine 2 step air 250 cc to 500 cc, will dominate the market off-road motorcycles.

Through history we can learn how the persistence of the inventors motorcycles in creating valuable motorcycles for the public. In addition we can also learn to always make improvements and innovation in order to achieve the best results in meeting the welfare of society in general, according to one of the values that Motor Power Innovations.
